ACT NOW–GREAT CHANCE TO SIGN THE PETITION SUPPORTING SB141

Tomorrow, we have a great opportunity to make our voices heard in support of SB 141, the Senate bill prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. The bill is up for debate in the Insurance and Elections Committee. Thanks to the many hundreds of people who have already expressed their strong support for this bill. If you haven’t already, please visit my campaign website, click on the link to the petition, and express your support for SB 141.

Our state needs to be a leader across the board, which especially includes protecting civil rights. We need to make sure our legislators are aware of the overwhelming support Delawareans have for this measure.

You can read my letter to Senator Copeland, which addresses the supposed “downsides” to a bill of this nature. These concerns are unfounded, and are frankly insignificant compared to the importance of equality for all Delawareans. We need to get this bill through the committee; it is one of the first steps in taking Delaware to the next level. There are already over 600 names on the list, but we need more!
